...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HOUSTON/GALVESTON HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING 
FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS...

  CYPRESS CREEK AT GRANT ROAD AFFECTING HARRIS COUNTY

FOR CYPRESS CREEK AT GRANT ROAD, MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECASTED.  

WIDESPREAD RAINFALL ASSOCIATED WITH A SLOW MOVING FRONTAL BOUNDARY HAS PRODUCED
3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE UPPER CYPRESS CREEK WATERSHED. RUNOFF FROM THIS
RAIN IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING NEAR GRANT ROAD.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

PERSONS ARE URGED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE RIVER UNTIL WATER LEVELS RECEDE. 

MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID ANY WATER COVERED ROADS AND FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE. 

LIVESTOCK AND EQUIPMENT SHOULD REMAIN OUT OF THE FLOOD PLAIN FOR THE NEXT FEW 
DAYS.

* FLOOD WARNING FOR 
  CYPRESS CREEK AT GRANT ROAD.
* UNTIL SATURDAY MORNING...OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED.
* AT 10 AM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 113.3 FEET. 
* MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST. 
* FLOOD STAGE IS 116.7 FEET. 
* FORECAST...THE CREEK IS EXPECTED TO RISE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE THIS AFTERNOON WITH
A CONTINUED RISE TO NEAR 118.7 FEET OVERNIGHT.
* AT 118.7 FEET...MODERATE LOWLAND FLOODING BEGINS AS LOWLYING AREAS ALONG THE
  CREEK BECOME INUNDATED..
